Hello! We are Rocky Mountain Karelian Bear Dogs.
We started Rocky Mountain Karelian Bear Dogs in 2020 after we had owned KBD's for awhile, we decided we wanted to share the amazing Karelian Bear Dog. We live on a ranch in Central Montana, where we have cattle, sheep and chickens - and of course our three Karelians! We want more people to be able to have and love this breed. Our goal is simple: we want to help others find a dog that suits them best.
We promise to provide you with a well socialized, well cared for and much loved KBD puppy. We will do all that is in our power to insure the safety and well being of our dogs and puppies. We love our puppies, so we will carefully screen our potential customers to make sure all our puppies are going to amazing homes. We are so excited to meet you, please contact us with any questions! Thank you!

This is Yara, one of our dams. She is a very serious, and majestic Karelian. She is the oldest of the pack, born on July 8th, 2016. She loves to go for walks and be around people. She doesn't seem afraid of the next challenge. We adopted her from Jackknife Mountain Karelians after they decided to be done breeding. She didn't take long to get comfortable around us and she certainly seems to love Montana! She is a great momma and has about 10 puppies per litter. We are proud to call her our own.
Isla (Izzy) is our second Dam. She is more adventurous than Yara, and she loves to hunt - she also seems to like being in her own space, she is what I imagine an introverted dog to be like! We also adopted her from Jackknife Mountain Karelians, she took a little longer to warm up to us, she was very loyal to her original owners. She seems to love her new surroundings after getting used to them. She was born on July 29th, 2016. She is also a great momma! She usually has about 5 puppies per litter.
We are so thankful we own her and are proud to call her ours.
Ukko is our Sire, he is a playful, fun loving dog, even at his age, he is still a puppy at heart. Being the youngest of the three born on May 31st, 2017. He loves people - especially little kids, he is so sweet with them! We also adopted him from Jackknife Mountain Karelians. He adjusted to the change extremely well. He loves to run and play but also likes to go for hunts. He is a great father and we are so proud he is ours. He compliments our pack so well!
